María Vicente García

Senior Associate

María Vicente García is a Senior Associate at the Energy Policy Group, where she supports the Data Analytics team in developing decarbonisation scenarios for Romania using the LEAP energy modelling framework.

Before joining EPG, María worked as a Senior Energy Analyst at the International Renewable Energy Agency, where she developed long-term energy transition scenarios and contributed to regional and global decarbonisation outlooks. Her work involved modelling end-use sectors, and energy supply, analysing energy balances and greenhouse gas emissions data, and assessing technology deployment pathways consistent with 1.5°C climate targets. She also contributed to flagship publications and translated modelling outputs into policy recommendations for governments and international stakeholders.

María holds an Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree in Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy and a Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid.
