Always open; seasonal intake

We are looking for motivated and curious individuals to join EPG’s internship programme and contribute to our work on energy and climate policy in Romania and the European Union. This programme is open to Romanian and EU citizens, as well as to those who have the legal right to study and work in the European Union, and who are currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a higher education programme.

Location: In Bucharest, at the EPG office, with the possibility of one remote work day per week.

Type: 3 months fixed-term internship or scholarship contract

Internship indemnity: EUR 900 per month, gross, for a full-time commitment

Applications remain open indefinitely; however, placements are scheduled into fixed three-month cycles throughout the year (January–March, April–June, July–September, October–December).

You may apply at any time and indicate which upcoming cycle you are interested in. To ensure your application is considered, please submit it at least two weeks before the start of your chosen cycle.

Interviews will be scheduled no earlier than three weeks before the beginning of the selected cycle, regardless of when you submit your application. For example, if you apply in June for the October–December cycle, you will not be contacted for an interview until September.

  • Excellent command of English (C1 or native); working knowledge of Romanian is a strong asset.

Energy Systems

The Energy Systems department conducts research and analysis to foster evidence-based dialogue on balancing decarbonisation, economic competitiveness, and social fairness. We engage decision makers, industry representatives, academia and civil society, focusing on the energy mix, electricity market design, renewable energy deployment, heating systems and energy infrastructure.

Clean Economy

Within the Clean Economy department, EPG focuses on industrial decarbonisation, carbon management, and climate governance. We act as the practical bridge for the Energy Systems’ research while aligning our efforts with the sectoral work of the Buildings and Cities team.

Buildings and Cities

The Buildings and Cities Team carries out research and engages with organisations, experts, and public institutions in the construction sector to support the transition to sustainable, low-carbon built environment.  Our researchers examine buildings and communities to understand energy use, emissions, housing quality, and social impacts.

Data Analytics

The purpose of the Data Analytics department is twofold. First, it provides support activities by collecting, processing and managing the data needed in EPG’s research projects. Second, building on the team’s expertise in the field, the Data Analytics department coordinates data intensive projects that need advanced statistics or modelling techniques.

  • Gather data from various sources, including publications, and refining it to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Use exploratory data analysis (mainly in Excel) to find trends and patterns in the data
  • Produce visualisations and ad-hoc papers to communicate findings
Communications

The Communications Department leads the dissemination of EPG’s publications and key messages across all public-facing channels, ensuring a consistent visual identity and digital presence. It supports events and collaborates with researchers to tailor messages for target audiences.

  • Draft communication materials (press releases, articles, social media posts)
  • Create short summaries of research papers for newsletters, media, or website highlights
  • Assist in event logistics and promotion
  • Ensure consistency with EPG’s branding and communications guidelines.
