The GreenHorizon project aims to foster industrial carbon management strategies and projects with net climate and socio-economic benefits in CEE. Industrial carbon management (comprising carbon capture and storage or utilisation) can be an essential tool in decarbonising hard-to-abate industries and enabling negative emissions. However, its application must be appropriately targeted at industries which need it the most, and monitored to ensure delivery of measurable and equitable climate and socio-economic benefits. 

Led by EPG, this project will improve national, regional, and local understanding of the bottlenecks to effective industrial carbon management deployment, build capacity among key stakeholders to deliver robust projects and strategies, and test new models for improved local and regional governance of carbon management. GreenHorizon will also foster knowledge exchange across CEE and enhance public awareness of industrial carbon management as acclimate mitigation tool.
