Corina Murafa

Advisory Board Member

Corina Murafa is a university lecturer, activist and independent consultant in climate, energy and sustainability with 12+ years of progressive experience in large non-profits, international organisations and the private sector.  

Ms Murafa gives a voice to civil society organisations in Brussels and Bucharest, as a member of the European Economic and Social Committee and of the Economic and Social Council of Romania. She is a member of the Romanian Energy Poverty Observatory and an Associate Fellow with the Centre for Democracy Studies (Babes Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca).

Ms Murafa teaches sustainability in energy companies and social entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Business Administration at Bucharest University of Economic Studies, where she also participates in applied research projects in fields such as biomass and heat pumps.

Ms Murafa offers evidence-based policy advice to the organisations she works with, because she has a solid academic background through studies and long-term fellowships in energy and climate economics and policy at UC Berkeley, Hertie School of Governance (Master in Public Policy), New York University, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (PhD in International Economic Relations, with a thesis on financial instruments for decarbonising the energy sector) and Bucharest University (BA in Political Science).
