Leveraging EPG’s work from previous years, this project aims to continue building momentum for better climate governance in Romania. This project is part of EPG’s ongoing work on industrial decarbonisation, aiming to provide evidence-based solutions for industrial transformation in Romania and the CEE region. 

The project delivers continuous stakeholder engagement with key authorities on a framework climate law in Romania, analytical work on the effects of the ETS2 policy, and a review of Romania’s upcoming Social Climate Plan. The project will also host EPG’s first research on climate change adaptation, in the form of a short publication on desertification in Romania. Through this project, EPG continues to support institutions and civil society in designing people-focused climate policy ensuring a just and democratic transition to climate neutrality in Romania.
