Bogdan Leu

Associate

Bogdan works as an Associate within the Energy Systems department of the EPG and he is also the Director of the EPG Summer School international programme.

He is an energy professional with a strong background in power systems, with a focus on research and innovation across technical, policy, and strategy dimensions.

He studied power systems engineering at University Politehnica of Bucharest, in 2019 he finished his master’s degree with a research on distribution networks at Institut Politechnique de Grenoble and in 2023 he obtained his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.

Since 2017, he has been part of Transelectrica, Romania’s Transmission System Operator, where he leads various Research & Innovation projects and fosters collaborations with top international industry partners.
He also serves as the Chairman of CIGRE Next Generation Network (NGN) Romania, a technical organization that connects and supports young energy professionals.

Bogdan was recognized as a Global Future Energy Leader (FEL-100) by the World Energy Council, a prestigious program that identifies and supports outstanding young professionals shaping the future of energy. He was also featured in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list for his contributions to the energy sector.
