Andrei Covatariu

Senior Associate & Member of the Advisory Board

Andrei Covatariu is an international energy expert, focusing on energy security, energy geopolitics, and the social and economic challenges of the energy transition. Andrei is a Member of the Advisory Board and Senior Research Associate at EPG.

He holds multiple roles at the intersection of policy research and practice, engaging with public and private stakeholders across Europe, the Middle East, and the US. Andrei is a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center and a Nonresident Fellow at the Payne Institute for Public Policy. He serves as Co-Chair of the Task Force on Digitalization in Energy at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and an expert in the Nuclear Development Committee of the Nuclear Energy Agency.

Andrei holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in nuclear engineering, a master’s degree in business administration, and a Master’s in Public Policy (MPP) from the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford (St Antony’s College), where he also completed a summer project at the Belfer Centre for Science and International Affairs, Harvard Kennedy School.
