Daria Sorescu

Research Assistant

Daria works as a Research Assistant in the Clean Economy Department, specialising in industrial carbon management with a focus on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and European Studies and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Policy for Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability at the University of Bucharest. Her academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of global policy, socio-economic development and industrial change, encompassing climate diplomacy, just transition and the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries.

Previously, Daria served as a NEXT Global Ambassador at ISPI – Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale, where she engaged in leadership and diplomacy activities focused on climate, energy transition, multilateral cooperation and strategic negotiation. She also completed traineeships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania in the Diplomatic Archives and at the Romanian Senate in the Committee for Education, gaining valuable insights into archival research and legislative processes.
